Open Fist Theatre Company

OPEN FIST THEATRE COMPANY is a community of actors, playwrights, designers and directors dedicated to the pursuit of two ambitions. First, we believe that to realize the force and potential of the theater, it is necessary to create, nurture, and unite a company. Toward this end we commit ourselves to the rigorous exploration of our craft, continuing our artistic education through classes, readings, workshops and full-scale productions. Second, at the start of the new millennium, we seek to broaden our understanding of the cultural maelstrom of Los Angeles, striving to present themes and dramas that explore the mutually determining relationships between people and their societies. Since we find that theater to be a collaborative human endeavor with philosophical, political and social repercussions, we believe it must remain intrinsically connected to these disciplines. Through diverse styles and forms, we seek to expand our cultural consciousness, challenging the barriers separating performer from audience, striving to create meaningful events for us all.
